Ned Sullivan was appointed as an independent director and chairman of the Board of eircom on 30 October 2008. He is currently Chairman of Greencore Group plc and of McInerney Holdings plc. He is the former Group Managing Director of Glanbia plc and has held various senior management positions in Grand Metropolitan plc in London and Dublin.
Jerome Barrett was appointed as a director of ERC Ireland Finance and as Deputy Chairman of the Board on 1 June 2009. He was also appointed a director of eircom Limited on the same date. He has served as non executive director of the eircom ESOP Trustee since August 2001 and as Chairman since July 2004. Mr Barrett served as National Officer of the Communications Workers Union from 1999 until his retirement in June 2009.
Paul Donovan was appointed a Director and as Chief Executive Officer of eircom on 1 July 2009. Paul has almost 20 years experience in IT and Telecoms and has worked in businesses across the globe. Before joining eircom, Paul worked for ten years at Vodafone, latterly as a member of Vodafone's Group Executive Committee as Regional Chief Executive. From 2001 to 2004 Paul was CEO of Vodafone Ireland, and led the integration of Eircell upon its acquisition from eircom. Earlier experience included senior roles in mobile at Cable and Wireless in the UK and Australia, BT, Apple Computer, Coca Cola and Schweppes Beverages and Mars. In addition to his roles on the Board and Executive Committee of eircom, he holds a Non-Executive Directorship of Millicom which operates mobile and cable networks in fourteen markets across Latin America and Africa, is the Chairman of the Irish Telecommunications and Internet Federation and is a member of the Board of Patrons of Special Olympics Ireland.
Gregory Sparks was appointed as a director of ERC Ireland Finance on 1 June 2009. He was appointed as a director of eircom Limited on 27 May 2009. He is a founding partner of FGS, Chartered Accountants, which is an all-Ireland firm representing RSM in Ireland. He was appointed to the Board of the eircom ESOP Trustee on 27 February 2008. He holds a number of other Board directorships including The Irish Times and Digicel, the mobile operator in the Caribbean. He was a Board member of the Special Olympics World Games and worked as Programme Manager for Dick Spring when in Government from 1992 to1997.
Bernard Somers was appointed a director of eircom Limited on 26 September 2011. Mr Somers is a graduate of University College Dublin and a chartered accountant. He is principal of Somers & Associates and specialises in corporate and debt restructuring. He has been an adviser to many of Ireland?s largest companies. At present he advises a range of borrowers primarily arising from the collapse of the property market in Ireland. Mr Somers is currently a director of DCC plc and Irish Continental Group plc and has previously served on the board of many listed companies in Ireland and the USA.
Nicky Hartery was appointed a director of eircom Limited on 26 September 2011. He was previously a non-executive director of eircom from March 2009 until January 2010. Mr Hartery is currently President and CEO of Prodigium, a consulting company. Prodigium provides business advisory services around Business Transformation, Lean Six Sigma and BPI practices. Prodigium also provides training and business education solutions to clients as an enabler to achieving long-term sustainable success for their organisations. Previously, he served as Vice President of Manufacturing and Business Operations for Dell Inc.'s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Operations from 2000 to 2008. Before Dell, Mr Hartery was an Executive Vice President at Eastman Kodak and President and CEO at Verbatim Corporation. Since 2004, Mr. Hartery has been a non-executive and senior independent director on the board of CRH plc. Since 2009 he has also served as a board member for the TAS Group, a world leader in Sales Performance Automation. Since 2010, he has also served as a board member of Musgraves, a privately owned major international food retailer. He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland (C.Eng. F.I.E.I.), an Electrical Engineering graduate from University College Cork and holds an MBA from University College Galway.
